Drains? Bandages? Etc?

My Mom has been talking about having to change drains, bandages, etc while she's here... (She's using as an excuse for coming when she is because she doesn't think hubby can do it 'Steve will be useless when it comes to changing bandages and such'. Really kind of bugs me that she has no faith in my DH, but anyways.... I haven't seen anything that would lead me to think that I would have any of that, other than having to wear a 'diaper' for a couple of weeks afterwards.... Who's right? :confuse:

Drains? Bandages? Etc?

As far as I know the only time anyone has drains is if they also have a tummy tuck along with the hyst. As far as bandages - I had a TAH and nope, no bandage. After the staples were removed they were replaced with steri strips, but nothing that had to be changed, and the incision area didn't get any special treatment.

So your Mom is probably not going to have that "job" to take care of. Let her clean house instead

Drains? Bandages? Etc?

I had a drain for about a week after I came home because they had to do extensive work to remove all the endo. Unfortunately I didn't have a tummy tuck

The drain was not a big deal to take care of. I could easily do it by myself. I also didn't have a bandage. Just staples and later steri strips.

I'm with mlweeman. Have her clean house...and cook!
