Couple of ?'s

I have my pre op appt. tomorrow when I can ask my dr. these questions but I am curious what it was like for you ladies. About when after having TVH were you able to workout?
Also is there anything before surgery that I should not be taking? I currently take a daily antibiotic for UTI's, b/c pills to try to control the bleeding (not working obviously), 2000i.u. Vitamin E and fat burners.
Since alcohol is a blood thinner should I not have any of that?

Write down all these questions and dont forget to ask. I was told not to take ADVIL which was a shock since i have been taking lots of it for pain. But I was cleared to take Tylenol. Please ask ur a-man and even the nurses. Ensure that all your questions are answered beforehand.

Another great thing was I found a list of questions right here on Hyster Sisters and printed it out to take with me. Since I am from Canada some of those questions our doctors have never even heard the terminology . But I was glad to be able to ask and it really helped

I was just talking to someone in my gym the other day who is an advisor on what to do for post op. She did tell me that they recommend nothing but walking for 6 wks. (I'm having abdominal partial hysterectomy)

I know I have had no real guidance in the past from drs/physical therapists on how to begin working out after problems I've had with fibromyalgia in the past. I haven't yet asked my dr about this (pre-op on Nov 5th) but didn't expect much in the way of guidance so was relieved to talk to this woman. My goal is to get moving as quickly as possible w/o hurting myself and she said she could help me. I'm new on here, so if I somehow am not able to connect back to you (not too good at computer navigation!) check back with me later...I haven't yet set an appt with her right now.

You really need to talk with your doctor about this. My doctor said no aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, or herbal meds for a week before surgery. I was allowed to take tylenol, my allergy meds, and my blood pressure meds.
