Is this normal?

I noticed yesterday for the first time while showering that I have stitches just inside of the vaginal opening. I asked my dr. about it at my appt. and he said they go from the opening to the vaginal cuff. I did have a TVH but had complications and have an abdominal insision also.

I was just curious if anyone else had this too. It was something I was not expecting.

Hi I had them up both the anterior and posterior walls of my vagina -- they were the "A&P repair" incisions. It sounds like maybe you had a repair done as well - did you have a cystocele or rectocele before your surgery?

You might want to get a copy of your surgery report, available either from your DR's office or the hospital where the surgery was done, for your records. It should say exactly what was done.
