Sex last night for the 1st time since...
I am only about 10 days post op, but am looking forward to getting the green light!
I fully intend to use the "intoxicate and lubricate" method. Worked well after the kids and I had episiotomies to be concerned with then. So, am thinking with just the abdominal scar, if we are careful all should go well!

Sex last night for the 1st time since...
I am about 14 weeks out from my LAVH. I can tell you that the first time we were given the green light (at 4 weeks), I was plenty nervous. It hurt, I was waaaayy overthinking, and I didn't enjoy it. At all. But each time we tried--and we gave ourselves a few days in between "tries" to give me more time to heal mentally and physically--it got better. Now, sex is just as good--if not better--than ever.
One word for all: PATIENCE! It will get better. Really.

Sex last night for the 1st time since...
HI Ladies, I am happy to see that I am not the only one worried about that first time. I was released last week at my 6wk check up . and we still have not tried it yet it is funny at about 4wks post op it was like I could not wait for the all clear and now I don't even want to think about it for fear that something will go wrong. but I think part of my problem is is that my doc was in such a hurry to get to his lunch that he did not take the time that he should have and did not do an exam on me before he released me all he did was look at my incision and said it looks good and released me. I think I would feel better about having sex if I knew that my insides and mostly my cuff looked good.I would hate to find out that I was not healed enough and caused some type of damage. and I think if I started bleeding and had any pain afterwards it would freak out my DH as he would think that he hurt me or something. I know I have to get over this fear and just go ahead and do it. but I just can't get passed the thought of something going wrong. maybe I will try the booze idea. Take Care Ladies, Cathy

Sex last night for the 1st time since...
Had my 6 wk checkup today and have been given the green light to resume a "normal life". I called DH on the way home (he's at work) and asked him if he's ready to do the Horizontal Hustle. After hanging up, I thought "Oh #*&#!! Am I ready to do it? The dr. gave me a full exam, inside and out, and even suggested I be on top so I can control "light vaginal entry". Also recommended a "water based lubricant" like KY, or even a vaginal cream. At times like this I wish we drank!!
By the way, this may be too much info, but the dr said my vagina looked "pale", indicating low estrogen. I started taking Remifemin for flashes, but don't want to do hormones unless necessary. Anyone else been told they are "pale"? What did you do about it? Thanks!!

I had a vaginal assisted hysterectomy, so I don't know if my vagina will still be sensitive to anything when the Doc gives me the ok.
