I'm not sure where to ask this (child ment.)

I am trying to figure out my plan ahead of time and am not getting much luck. I really need personal experience for best and worse scenerios. I had a baby in August my follow up (pap, colp, Ecc, cone) showed AIS and moderate disp. After the cone margins were narrowly clear and I am waiting as I type for the 3m follow up results. I have seen two gyn/oncl and both suggested a mod. radical hyst (keeping ovaries baring seeing something during surgery). I need to have an idea of:
1. How long will I be off work
2. How long will I need help with my baby
3. How long until I can lift my baby
4. If I need to travel to family after how long will it take until I am comfy in a vehicle for 5 hours

I took my maternity leave and have about 5 weeks left of sick time and my husband has only about 3 weeks. We do not live near family and I really do not want my FIL here (he offered, no he stated and I will go CRAZY if he comes). I can go stay with my MIL and my SIL's live in the same town so plenty of help there. I would much rather stay home alone with baby as I am awful and mean when I don't feel well.

Thanks...

It is major surgery and usually the post-op time to recovery and do almost nothing is 6-8 weeks, with no lifting, pushing, shoving. Driving around 3 weeks, maybe sooner with dr approval and all this is if there are no side effects or complications. There are hundreds of stitches inside, so this is the reason so much care not to strain anything.

I would think you will need some help for a couple of weeks expecially since you need someone to pick up the baby, and anything heavy, and no housework. The lifting can undo or tear things inside so this is a serious thing.

Here is a list of things to consider Pre-Op and Post-Op:

You will have to ask your dr about travel(long distance) and usually it is after your recovery time post-op and you are released.

I hope you can get someone to come in to help you and help take care of the baby.
