home now

Hi ladies,
well I am home. got home about 10pm last nite. Ride home was awful as I live and hour away from the hospital. By the time I got home I was crying...mostly from just being tired. I was so scared going into this...most know that I wanted to cancel....and I almost did. I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic they gave me in pre-op and the A-man said (after giving me different meds to counteract the reaction) I could cancel if I didnt feel comfortable. I told him if I didnt do it now, I would never do it. I was a hysterical mess, but they gave me some anti-anxiety med and I really dont remember much after that. The surgery went well, did alot of demerol the first day, but it has gotten better each day. My only complaint is the headaches I keep getting. My dh thinks just stress. My pathology came back adeno and fibroids, which was a shock...only suspected the adeno. I can say like most that waiting is hard, and recovery takes time. I am still very tired and having some pain, so hoping I did do the right thing, and only time will tell. Thanks so much to all of you who prayed and just gave me so much encouragement. Very much appreciated.

Glad to hear you're home and you did it. I really do believe that the waiting is the hardest part. I was like you and really wanted to cancel. In fact, the first thing I said when I semi-woke up in recovery was that I had changed my mind and didn't want the surgery. A little late with that. I also had a long ride home, 2 hours. Be sure and take a pillow with you to put between you and the seat belt when you go for your checkups. I also had headaches but they slowly went away.
