one incision is very different

Ok, I realize that I'm only 3 days post op, however one of my incisions is very different from the others. It is in my right lower quadrant and it is very sunken in where I assume there is swelling of fatty tissue above. However, I only weighed 97 lbs before surgery so there really isn't alot of fat. The same incision directly on the left side doesn't look anything like that at all. Has anyone had a similar problem.

healthlink, I see you are a very petite person at 97 pounds. Did you have 2 incisions or is it one part of your incision that you are concerned about? Do you think it might be swelling? I don't recall seeing anyone mention this before but who knows?

one incision is very different

Healthlink~Have you had any kids? I had LSH/BSO and my incision on the lower right is weird too. My dr said my skin wasn't holding together well so he had to do alot of extra stitches there. He thought the reason it wouldn't hold together was because of all of my "lovely" stretch marks. It is also the biggest incision because that is where they took my uterus and right ovary out. Give it some more time! Mine looks better now, but it is still a little bigger than my other incisions! Elizabeth

BTW~I'm not 97lbs. anymore , but I'm only 115 so I don't have alot of fat either. I don't think weight played a part in my case.

OrahDeb,
I had LAVH I have 4 incisions, the one I'm concerned about is the lower right side. I have 2 on the right side, 1 thru the navel and 1 on the lower left side. The lower right side is really sunken in. And it must be a little larger because it has 2 steri strips on the incision. It just looks different that the others. It looks like a great big puncture wound. Which essentially is really what it is i guess. I see the fellow doctor tomorrow to see about getting the cath out.

Rodswife,
yes I have 2 children which were vaginal births. I had my gallbladder out 6 weeks ago and the lapro incisions are much smaller than the hyster surgery. I plan on asking the dr. tomorrow all the details.

Your incisions are in the exact same place as mine. I also have 4. Ask your dr and he/she will probably tell you the same thing as mine told me. I have had 2 kids, both vaginal births and your skin is probaby weak. Good luck!
