I guess they really mean it - no vacuuming for 8 weeks after hysterectomy

When they say no vacuuming until 8 weeks. Have had a good weekend. Even took the boys to water side dinner with live music last night. Today I decided after church to clean my youmgests room. Ugh. Got thru that and figured I felt ok I'd run our smaller vac over his carpet. Now my back is hurting and I'm all crampy. Back to the sofa and my house will remain unvac'd until husband returns next weekend. Ugh

Oh I hear you. You don't realize how much effort pulling and pushing a vacuum takes. Rest up and you'll feel better again soon!

Thanks. It was stupid of me but I was feeling pretty good considering my hubs has been gone a week. I've been back to work full time, baseball practice. Etc. Heating pad now and early to bed. Lol

I haven't tried it yet even though the doc said I could. I told husband 1 more month til I could. He wasn't there and he doesn't know. I am too scared that I will have more pain. Still have some after 8 weeks....

Re: I guess they really mean it - no vacuuming for 8 weeks after hysterectomy

I had my checkup Friday the 14th and got the ok to vacuum. I clean houses for a living and my Dr. knew this and still gave me the ok-no restrictions on anything. I'll just be 6 weeks this Tuesday. I'm going to ease in on cleaning and see how it goes. She said to take Ibuprofen and stay ahead of any pain when I have to clean.
