ovarian pain

Am having terrible pains after having a hysterectomy in 05, I kept my ovarys but in the last year had to return to hospital to have the left removed due to very bad adhesions, the opp was in jan this year but am in agony all the time despite living on Morphine and Tramadol for the pain. In the last few weeks I visited my doctor and had another ultrasound and blood tests to try and find a cause.

Please is there anybody suffering the same or have any comments or suggetions.

Thanks in advance,

Nicola

Did the ultrasound revel an ovarian cyst?? They can cause excruciating pain, especially if twisted.

ovarian pain

Will your dr do a lap to see whats causing your pain? It sounds like what I'm going through. Since March I've been having horrible pains also on the left side. I've had a colonoscopy and a transvag and abdominal U/S . Nothing has showed up. My gyn said she thinks it's my adhesions and possibly endo. I have a history of severe adhesions and she referred me back to my dr that did my BSO in July 2007. So I'm scheduled on the 16th to have another surgery to find out whats going on.

The ultra sounds show up a cluster of cysts on the left ovary which has been removed, a transvaginal ultasound a month ago showed further cysts on the right ovary now.

I can relate to what you are going through. Had my LAVH in Jan. due to constant pelvic pain. Never seemed to get better. Had tests, tests, and more tests. The surgeon wanted to remove part of my bile and colon then changed his mind. To date (only 7 months mind you) I have seen 6 doctors. I finally went to an OB-GYN specialist. Her ultrasound tech found a hugh cyst on my left ovary. No one else has been able to find my ovaries due to scar tissue. I'm hoping all the pain on my left side is caused by this. She put me on birth control hoping to shrink the cyst. I go back in 3 months for a follow-up. I'm also being tested for auto immune diseases. I've just been so sick for the last year...It's so depressing!

ovarian pain

Hi,

Im due to see my doctor tomorrow for the results of the ultasound and blood tests. The pain I had before I had the ovary removed was bareable, but since having the left ovary removed its terrible all the time. The consultant that did the opp showed me pictures of the ovary and it was tied down with lots of adhesions. She told me that if the pain returned then the only thing she could offer me is an appointment with the pain clinic.
