Ca-125

Hi. Is this test something they do because we are having a hyst or do you have to ask for it. I would like for mine to be done as well. any input would help

I had an ultrasound that revealed a large cyst on the left ovary and another cyst on the right ovary. The doctor said he would be willing to watch and wait for 3 months to see if they went away. But he also ordered a CA125. The results were elevated and he told me he could not wait 3 months I needed surgery right away. He said the numbers probably meant I had endo (he was right) but an elevated number can also mean ovarian cancer.
