PMS and HYST question?

hello ladies can you tell me,if you have yr ovaries removed,do all symptoms of pms go away?the anxiety ,the irritability.the moodswings.Iknow all the physical symptoms go when the uterus is removed.will i need testosterone to get my energy levels back ? or will my energy levels slowley return.my hyst is sept 20th ,and i feel like im "walking the green mile" as one hystersister accuratly put it. when i said that quote to my dh ,he then understood how i felt.I really think he empathises more with the filmm than he does me .... any way hope i dont have one of those horrible electrical things put on my head in hospital (you see how my imagination is running wild?)thankyou for such a great site

PMS and HYST question?

Hi there

I had ovaries removed and have not had any pmt at all. It's great as I had big problems before. As far as which hormones you need I think it's trial and error, I have been OK on estrogen only, and a fairly small dose, dr tried me on small to start with and to see how it went. I take a daily tablet.

Calm down! You'll be fine! Feel free to PM me if there are any specific UK things you feel you want answered or have a look on the Europe forum if you haven't already.

PMS and HYST question?

Hi! I don't have any PMS problems anymore. Sometimes I'll get a strong food craving and realize it would have been that time of the month, but that's it. It's great!

HRT doses and types vary for each person so you'll have to work with your doctor to find what's right for you. I'm on low dose estrogen and testosterone and I'm very happy. I had no hormones for a couple months after surgery to try and kill more endo. Then I started the dose I'm on now. When I started HRT my poor skin broke out like crazy for the first couple weeks, but then it evened out and calmed down. So, try and give your body time to adjust when you start HRT -- if you can.

I was really freaked out before surgery, but now I think it was the best thing I ever did. Take care and I hope this helps!

PMS and HYST question?

PMS is caused by ovaries, without ovaries there is no way to get pre-menstral syndrome. PMS starts after ovulation and continues till your period starts.

PMS and HYST question?

It can take a month or so for hormones to really clear your system, so you might keep that in mind. Otherwise you should be "good to go!"
