Did anyone else have horrible back pain?

Thanks so much for your help!! I thought there was no way that back pain and leg pain could be from my uterus.
A few of you said you also had the pain in the right hip. When you have that pain, is it an ache or a shooting pain?
I get a strong ache when I've overdone it but what bothers me more is the shooting pain I get when I've been sitting for a while and try to stand up. I had it before but only when I was preg. Now I have it all the time. My Dr. swears it's not from my uterus and this is why I've been in PT for so long. PT doesn't help in fact when I leave there I can't even put my foot on the gas pedal without wincing.
Thanks again for writing back!!

Did anyone else have horrible back pain?

I'm so glad you all have brought out the back pain issue. My lower back (base of the spine) has been killing me for some time now. It comes and goes, but when it comes -- it's awful. Also, I get the sciatic nerve pain, too. It starts in the hip and shoots down the leg. The only time I had ever had sciatic nerve pain was when I was pregnant with both of my daughters and they were lying on the nerve.

As far as the pain being related to the uterus, I feel like it has to be!!! When I recently had an ultrasound, the doc said that I had the most retroverted uterus he's ever seen. It's also enlarged due to probable adenomyosis. He said my uterus was literally lying on my back muscles. He also said it "could be" causing my back pain. My surgery is May 21 so we'll see. The docs don't want to guarantee that the uterus is the cause of the back pain, but I'm sure hoping it is!!

Did anyone else have horrible back pain?

My lower back pain has been driving me crazy! And I've started having problems with the pain radiating out into my hips. Maintaining any position (sitting, standing) or being on my feet very long makes it even worse.

I hope the surgery helps! Reading some of the posts has given me hope that it might.

Did anyone else have horrible back pain?

Hi Tracy,

My second biggest complaint prior to surgery was back pain particularly through the night.(most mornings I just gave up trying to sleep). I wasn't sure if it was the fibroids or if I really had back problems but at about 2 1/2 weeks post op I realized my back didn't hurt at all any time of the day.
I can't promise your situation will be the same but most women with these problems have the same complaint. Hope you get better!!
