Anyone else wish they would have peeked more at the post-op side??

I really wish I would have read the threads from the post-op side before my TAH. I did a little but not much. I feel like I really did not get to ask my doctor some important questions. Questions I never thought to ask until after and then it's to late.

Don't get me wrong I don't regret having it done, it's just there is so much you don't realize until after. I should have asked more questions, definately.

I peeked some, but then found it made me more nervous reading about all the complications that could happen. Guess it's the ostrich syndrome--if I hide it won't find me.

xoxo-
I sure DO wish I had done that! Even AFTER the hyst I began peeking too at the progress reports for a week or two before mine and after mine to try to find out what to expect and how I was doing. Hind sight is 20/20!!

I think for me, my immagination would have run more rampant than it already was. I was pretty freaked out about the whole thing. Though I do have additional questions for my dr that I need to ask at my post op appt next wed that probably could have been asked earlier.

I think I was to scarred to look at post-ops. I was terrified of the whole situation. I tried reading some of the posts before my surgery and my mind started working faster than ever. I now have alot of post op questions for my dr. I will see him on 11/26. I will have to write them down just like I did with the pre-op appointment. Good Luck
