Sensitive around the "shaved area" skin

Does anyone have any advice to offer to help stop the pain I feel when anything touches that sensitive, swollen (but not red) skin between my labia and my TAH incision where the hair is just starting to grow back? Even just the touch my underwear is annoying. My husband says I'm walking like I "have a load" in my pants. My TAH/USO was 13 days ago, but this has only been a problem for the last few.

Is it like a sunburned feeling? I had that and anything touching it just about sent me through the roof!!!
Without getting any on your incision[b], try aloe vera gel to ease the discomfort. I had it for about a week I think (it felt like months though!)

I had that problem over the weekend. I used 1% cortizone cream. With Dr. O.K.

I imagine Aloe would be good also.

Was very annoying. I thought I had an infection or something. I was also getting a discharge that made it burn all the more. Dr. said was from the stitches.

Good luck.

And I thought I was the only one this was bothering. It getting better now but even the wrong underwear is unbearable. I hate that sensation. It really is annoying.

I have it, too. It is really annoying. I can only wear a few things that are soft enough to go against that area. I have to do laundry every other day.

Sensitive around the "shaved area" skin

Finally got back to the doctor for my two-week post-op at nearly 3 weeks. Told him about the painful sensitivity. He found SHINGLES! (He says this isn't uncommon in women who had chicken pox as children. It is sometimes the body's response to the stress of surgery.) I'm applying anti-viral cream 4x/day to the sores, but the painful tenderness hasn't improved much. Like Pepperoni, I have only a few pair of underwear that don't cause discomfort (oddly, they're the stretchy, more form-fitting ones), so I'm doing a lot of laundry, too!

Shingles can be REALLY painful - I'm sorry you have this!
Take care
