Scar problems

Hi, it's been a year and a half since my hysterectomy and over a year since visiting this site. I am well now apart from one thing...a very red, raised itchy scar which I think is termed hypertrophic. Still very sensitive as well. I am thinking of trying silicone sheets or gel. Has anyone else tried these or can anyone recommend anything.

I am presently using silicone sheets to try and get mine to flatten and lose the red appearance. I believe it takes months for results so I can't say whether it is working or not. I believe I started in March so it has been over 4 months. Things aren't really getting better but then again, they aren't getting worse. I don't have the itching or the sensitivity you seem to have. I hope this helps.
