Brownish discharge after hysterectomy

Any sisters opinions/ advice greatly appreciated please... I had the bladder mesh at the same time as my vag hysterctomy. On march 25. Been following dr orders. Went out yesterday to the store with the hubs and didn't lift a thing.. but last night was worn out. woke up in night achey and had to take a pain pill. Through the night and today I have noticed more brownish dishcharge. I can't tell if it is coming from the bladder or maybe from stitches?? I have "twinges" in my lower abdomen and my legs ache so bad. No real smell to it.. so I can't tell if there is urine in it or not. I'm getting paranoid. :-( I go to the dr for my 2 week this Wed April 9th. Has anyone else had anything like this?

Re: bladder mesh and hysterectomy

I had mine march 26th and haven't had anything like that just been peeing alot. Sometimes a little sore on right side dr said it could be my bowel. My vagina lips itch from two small incision on each side from the bladder mesh.

Re: bladder mesh and hysterectomy

I'm very achy feeling also. I went to the store yesterday and had to sit down for a bit. I have the brownish discharge also and have more the longer I am up. So, I think it's normal healing. I think if you don't smell urine, then the discharge is part of the healing. I have noticed that I don't have the pulling and don't leak like I used to. I see my doctor on the 9th also.

Re: Brownish discharge after hysterectomy

I am 12 weeks out of TH and kept ovaries. I have had some light brown discharge off and on since surgery. My doctor said it is normal. I would get it checked though if you have pain or red blood. I did hsve to have one silver nitrate treatment when I had the bright red blood at week 10.

Re: Brownish discharge after hysterectomy

Hi! I have occasional spotting of brownish 'old' blood discharge also starting just before the 2 week mark also. Am assuming it is normal healing.
