3 weeks post op and tired!
Hi All!
I am 3 and 1/2 weeks post op - I had a TAH, leaving one ovarie that was fine. Also had a 25 pound benign tumor coming from my right ovarie removed. I seem to be doing well, just really tired!! How long does the fatigue last? Also my incision is vertical the entire length of my abdomen - that looks really good, just quite a bit of pain still in the upper area of my abs - just very tender.
Thanks for any replies!!! Hope everyone else is doing great!
Cheers!

Hey Neighbor! I was tired for 7 weeks, but I think that was because I couldn't sleep. Week 3 was a hard one for me I felt alot more pain than I did week 2.
Glad to hear your doing good!!!

3 weeks post op and tired!
Hi Cheer,
I'll be 6 weeks post op on Wednesday, and my energy level is better than it was at week 4, but still not back to normal. I was a bit anemic following surgery, and am taking iron supplements, I think it just takes time. I've also had a few days when I felt very good, followed by a day or two of feeling so tired that I napped off and on all day.

3 weeks post op and tired!
Hi,
Glad you are doing well. Week 3 is hard one; just be patient. You are going to feel tired for a long time. Your body has been through a major ordeal. You aren't going to recover overnight, that's for sure! I am going into my 15th wk post op, and I get sooooo tired sometimes...it's a little overwhelming at times, because you *want* to be back to normal, so to speak, but I can tell you from my experience that being tired will probably linger for many months. I feel very good and every week I can tell a huge improvement. But, there are still times that I *overdo* and I am reminded that I am still healing. Hang in there and let time and nature take its course. I still have a tender belly, but can finally tell a difference in the past 2 weeks. Just continue to be a good princess and things *will* get better as the weeks pass. Take care!

3 weeks post op and tired!
Am 3 1/2 weeks post op and still very tired, achey and by the evening feel pretty uncomfortable. Had 1 or 2 pretty good days. but any exertion leaves me totally wacked out. Yesterday had my sister, niece, daughter and 2 grand-daughters for dinner to celebrate my birthday. I prepared and DH did the cooking and everyone mucked in in washing up.
By the end of the day I was so tired I thought I would pass out and today feel like a real mess.
Fraid to say this surgery is nothing like the ops I've had before and some of those were pretty major. Am very impatient, bored and desperately wanna get back to normal.

3 weeks post op and tired!
I had a TAH 31/2 weeks ago. I had a large fibroid causing severe bleeding as well as cramps that made labor feel like a walk in the park.My problem is not being able to sleep. On average I am sleeping about 4 hour a night, waking up at least twice a night to change the bed and my gown from sweating. My incision is really tender this week ,was not so bad last week. Doctor says everything looks great. Won't even talk about work until the end of July due to hemmoraging during surgery.

3 weeks post op and tired!
I will be 4 weeks on Friday and I am more tired now then I was 1-2 weeks ago, but I blame this on not sleeping. I can not sleep, and it is driving me nuts (more than I already am ha ha). So I think that is why I am so tired. I think this is pretty much the normal for the 3-4 week mark and guess we have to be patient that we get our stamina back. Tiffany

I'm the same as you Tiffany - more tired now than at the beginning. Not sleeping very well either - keep waking up in the night 2-3 times to go wee.
Oh to be back to normal again!
