weakness in right leg

This is Pam. Right after surgery three months ago, I discovered there was a weakness in my right leg. I had several falls after I came home from the hospital. I went to a neurologist along with other doctors and all seem to agree that it was the positioning during surgery. It has continued to bug me three months after although it is not as bad. I find I can't climb stairs easily like I used to. Any thoughts?

Re: weakness in right leg

I guess my only thought would be to go back to the doctors. Ask for physical therapy to see if that might help. Getting the other muscles in your leg stronger will hopefully help to compensate until it gets better. Ask therapist about doing balance testing. I would bug the docs again and tell them it is better but still there.

Re: weakness in right leg

I'd go back to the Neurologist. Have they done an EMG or nerve conduction test? It's possible that there's some nerve or muscle damage that has nothing to do with the surgery. I hope you get some answers.
