Weird question, might be sensitive

I know many of you had large fibroids or growths and I, like others, had severe endometriosis. But after my total abdominal and now starting to feel better (5 weeks), I don't actually feel like I have missing organs - I thought I would feel empty space in there somehow. Weird, I know. Do you feel different?
(Of course, I'm not talking about the vagina and vaginal cuff because I'm not at any point to be cleared for sex - I feel like there will be clear changes there)

Re: Weird question, might be sensitive

I checked that out before my surgery. They say the intestines fill the space. So prob why you don't feel like you're missing anything. I have had some issues during healing when laying on my side at 1st where it felt kind of weird

Lol, i feel the same as you! The first few days i maybe felt a bit emptier, but somehow, not anymore (tummy is flatter which is nice!). And yes, the whole vajayjay thing, well, we'll cross that bridge down the road!

Re: Weird question, might be sensitive

I had a large fibroid (cantaloupe sized) removed as well as a huge mass with endometriosis, my uterus, the works, they left one ovary. I also don't feel like I have anything missing as of yet. I guess I hadn't really thought about it like that, duh me. I think I was just so glad to be rid of all the issues and the giant growth that's all I could think of. I hope that makes sense.

What an interesting question. I had two cantaloupe sized fibroids removed. I've been too sore to notice but I did wonder if I will feel empty later on. It's strange to think that I don't have a uterus or cervix anymore.

Re: Weird question, might be sensitive

I'm liking the flatter tummy for sure, but I feel the same in the way that it feels like nothing is missing except the pressure and the pain
Sex?! What's that?! I'm not even entertaining the idea for awhile now, scared of breaking my new parts!

Re: Weird question, might be sensitive

I didn't have fibroids, but my left ovary measured 20 cm. I asked my doctor what happened when he took all my reproductive organs out, and he said, "Imagine a bowl of spaghetti with meatballs. The spaghetti is the intestines, and the meatballs are your ovaries and uterus. If you pluck out the meatballs, the spaghetti fills the open space." So our poor constricted intestines just relax and fill it up. That's why we don't feel empty. On a side note, I haven't looked at spaghetti and meatballs the same again.

Re: Weird question, might be sensitive

That makes sense. I remember when I had my right ovary out last year, I could swear that I had an empty spot but I know it was psychological Now that the whole works are out and I don't feel it just confirms that!
It's weird though, with some of these recovery pains, I automatically think 'my ovary hurts!' - it will take some getting used to that my body parts have moved in there

Re: Weird question, might be sensitive

I feel a lot cleaner inside, now that my troublesome spare parts are gone. I have full range of motion in my right hip for the first time in years! Oddly enough, now I have recurring dreams that I'm searching for something. My body is looking for missing hormones, I guess.
