made appt to discuss surgery date!

ok heres the on going saga. I dont want the surgery TAH but with HUGE fibriods ( internal in uterus) and distending uterus and cervix and all, the evidence is clear. I only hurt really bad when I bleed monthly. I do have major fatigue ( probably anemic) and muscle aches and dizzy/woozy spells. I am exhausted all the time and my stomach is huge. So you say go ahead and have the surgery right? well I'm the queen of denial, keep making up excuses. Firstly must wait till after travel hockey season with my son FEB 29th. then I was to go away to arizaona in april.. well I finally decided to go back to the doctor in january (27th) and calmly discuss this surgery and set a date for march so it can be over with before my planned cruise in JULY!
Yes I thought planning a cruise would give me something to recoup for!! My disability policy will be effective next month, so although I'll go first 30 days without $$ I should get $$ after that.
I am so scared and nervous. I was originally told by my doctor we could watch & wait and that she said " I'd know when the time is right" So i was thinking wait yEARS!!!!!!!! However I'm terrified I might have cancer too ( both parents died in their 50's from cancer) and that they wont find out till they are in there so if I continue to wait, might not be time to fix it!
i know I ramble on...
But wanted everyone to know that I at least set an appt for " talking" and the plan is surgery schedule is about 4-5 weeks out so It will probably be in March.....................
Now I need to stop having hyster twisters daily aand crying all the time so I can continue to function til then.

((((Maven))))

You're certainly in the right place for gals who know what it's like to face this surgery!

You might want to also take a look at our Options and Alternatives forum. There they discuss and support each other prior to making a decision.

If there is something inside that makes you feel hesitant, then perhaps it might be a good idea to get a second, maybe even third opinion. It is so important to be 100% comfortable with your decision to undergo this surgery.

If it's just plain jitters, then just know we can relate!!! Lots of hand holding support going on here.

Please let us know how things progress for you.

made appt to discuss surgery date!

I had my hyst for suspicion of ovarian cancer.... when there is a suspicion, typically they will also take lymph nodes for biopsy. When they take lymph nodes, they call it 'radical' .

I was not able to keep my ovaries because of an ovarian tumor that was bigger than my uterus, and I did not get keep my cervix, either.
