11 days post lysis and pain is back!

Hi ladies -

I had laparoscopic lysis of adhesions on 12/28/2007 and was doing alright except for some expected tenderness at the incision sites. Now since Sunday afternoon, I am experiencing the same pain in the same spot as I had before the surgery. The doctor hesitated when I asked if he used Seprafilm. He said he did - but there was nothing noted in the post op report. Is it possible that this could be internal healing - or am I in the same boat as before?

Dear Lori,
You are only 11 days post op. Remember that the doctor did some work inside of you and it will take longer than 11 days for everything to heal. Let yourself heal fully.

That's what I was thinking too. But i don't understand why I didn't have any deep pelvic pain after the surgery (except for the incisions) until 10 days or so later. The pain is mimiking the same pain as before. I had to take today off work because it is so bad, plus my stomach feeling like I have been used for a punching bag. I am calling the docs office and seeing if he can get me in today. Keep me in prayer.

Calling the doctor is always a good idea I do hope it is just healing and a sign that you need to take it easy. You went back to work already? You will be in my prayers.

Just got back from the gyn. He thinks that this is just my body healing and the Crohn's acting up. He says that adhesions take weeks or months to form so I shouldn't be concerned about that (however I know that is not the case). I am having very bad upper abdominal pain as well and I'm not sure what to do. Don't want to sit in an ER for 8 hours with no answers. I went back to work 3 days after the surgery. Why, wasn't I supposed to?
