I have a pain, too.. but it's on my RIGHT side!

I am 3 months post LSH.. I had some strange pain there ( right under my rt. ovary it feels like) before my surgery..but now I feel it more, every day.

My wound is larger on my right side ( where the morcelator went in) and it's still got that hardness underneath, inside... I can see it when i stand in front of a mirror.

So.. mine's on my RIGHT side, ladies... now what??

Karin in Santa Monica
PS. I am going to ask my dr. next week about it....Will let you know what he says..

Pain In Right Side 3 Months Post Op

Hi Karen
I'm sorry you're having pain 3 months out. I know it's disappointing and worrisome. I've had pains where my ovaries were too. My doctor felt mine were probably adhesions; which are sometimes best left alone because they can reform.

My doc had told me to let him know if/when it got to the point where I wanted to investigate the cause and pursue a treatment. So far, it's nothing I *can't* tolerate.... just something I wish I didn't have to.

I hope your pains resolve soon. I'm glad you'll be discussing them with your doctor. There are just so many things these could be. Let us know what you find out, okay?

I'll be thinking of you~
Gentle s,
Beth

Oh ((((Karen)))) I'm so sorry you're dealing with this

I had my hyst in 2000, but kept my ovaries. For about 2 or 3 years post-op, I would have these dull, stabbing pain that could also get very sharp, very regularly, every month. It was right where my right ovary is: I know that's so not only because the doctor's exam confirmed it, but also because a burst cyst produced pain in the same area... at an increased intensity. I was convinced that it was my ovary giving me grief.

It turns out that my pain was actually caused by spastic bowels. My doctor associated it all with the bowels settling in in the vacated space and my pre-existing IBS. PMS is one of the triggers for IBS and could explain the cyclical nature of my symptoms.

Now that time has gone by, I still, occasionally, get the pains... but they're not as often (once or twice a year... maybe three times) and not as intense. Could be due to peri-menopause or simply to my body having adjusted to the whole hyst adventure.

Have you consulted your doctor about these pains? As you can see from the answers, there could be several possible causes for them and it may be a good idea to have a doctor look into it... just to be on the safe side.
