Preparedness, if alone or with small children
Hello everyone!
As i was reading some posts today I just thought I might give some friendly home advice. I found the freezer and the microwave my best friends the first couple of weeks post-op. I only had a week to prepare for my LAVH, and I spent that week making meal I could freeze, put in single serve containers to pop in the microwave. This was helpful for myself and my child, because my DH works 14 hour shifts and I was alone the day after I came home from surgery. My family (mother, sisters, and etc.) were not able to help so I stuck in out on my own with my five year old. Also in that week before my surgery, I moved the furniture and things around my house so I could easily access everything, without fear of falling or bumping, twisting and turning. The most important thing if you are going to be spending alot of time healing alone, or with children..PAMPER YOURSELF AND TAKE IT EASY. Let chick flicks, chocolate, warm coffee or tea be your best friends to wind down. keep sweet smelling lotions and body sprays next to you at all times for some aromatherapy, and nice warm fuzzy non-slip socks for comfy!! Best of luck to everyone reading this!!
