No love
Hey, this may not be totally on the subjects of the 'norm', but I would like to express myself. I have 5 sisters and we're not talking as of last week because I took a stand. I feel lonely.I have no sibling sis to discuss my sharp pains, the pressure that happens when I pee, and the soreness of my tummy. Nope, not one sister to, 'hey, you doing ok?' , or have you talked to the doctor about your pain?'. I have my husband, and three other brothers but it's not the same connection. I hear, 'u got a husband and that's all u need, but we know as women we want the sisterly bond and care. So, here I am. I think I'm more irritated because we haven't talked and it's just me feeling these crazy pains. Well, there it go! !

Re: No love
Go ahead and get it out. I know I'm miserable when my sister and I aren't getting along, and especially when she didn't want to hear about my "continuing female problems." The good news is you have thousands of sisters! We may be HysterSisters, but all that means is we get it!

Hugs. But you have us! Anyhow, I completely understand. It's a rude awakening when you expect someone to care more than they do.

Re: No love
I'm only blessed with one sister but what past experiences has taught me is this (granted, all sisters, friends, relatives, work buddies, children, cousins ate different) people become bored or uninterested in our troubles, and move on to other shinier opps. Also, the number of people you can truly count on in times of need sre easily counted on one hand. While we still need assistance, they've much ced in. During my preop my sister was so attentive and concerned. We were worried about cancer and there were lots of other stressful things all at once. Now, 2 weeks post op, I'm not nearly as interesting. The cancer was indeed, but no further treatment is required (yay!) Don't get me wrong, if I call her, she'll try to help out. Bottom line, my mother has been my rock and is always there.i also have a neighbor whose a retired nurse cousin has been helpful bringing offerings of food and other kind gestures. From our church, where both my husband and I are very active- ONE meal. ONE card. Granted a few calls and texts, but that's it.
To wrap up, I'm thankful for those whom are truly helpful during this recovery. I am determined to come out of this more aware of others needs, and how I can help. I will seek chances to make someone's life a little easier. This is my plan and my hope anyway. I pray l live up to the challenge!

Re: No love
Ylonda731 - no sister, sister in law, husband, boyfriend....nothin here. Anytime you want to talk, vent or whatever I'm always here. If it wasn't for reading the posts on here I would not have anyone to share this experience with.

Re: No love
My sisters have been great, one lives in my complex so we see each other almost every day and if I need help shes there, my other two are not close by but text or call. My daughter who lives with me on the other hand gets honkerblonked off if I can't do something. She gets mad if I ask her to do dishes, or help with dinner or anything I dont feel comfortable doing yet. I can't even depend on her to bring groceries in the house. She isnt even working. She wants to spend time with her boyfriend knowing I can't take her 50 lb dog outside. Thinks she should be able to not go potty from 8pm to 10 am. I had to ask my roommate to help me take her. It's rediculous. If I would have known she wouldn't help I would have just stayed at my parents house for the 6 weeks.

Re: No love
Sorry that u feel alone. Looks like ur getting support here!! None of my friends/relatives have gone through this so I can empathize with u in feeling alone. There are things from the surgery that I did not expect to b happening to my body and I am grateful to this site for more education and understanding. Plus most important, I see I am not the only person feeling this way right now. Hang in there and I will too...it is bound to get better

Re: No love
I know how you feel. I took a stand with my one and only sister over a year ago and we only speak when in the presence of our parents. She texted my daughter the day of my surgery (Jan 17) and habe never heard from her again. Thank goodness for my husband and daughter because they have been a great support and help to me.
I am thankful for all my hystersisters and tjis website as well. There is so much knowledge between all.
Stay strong. ♥
