Concerned about constipation

Feeling a bit constipated. TAH was the 15th, and has gas & liquid bowel movements in the hospital on the 18th. Had first solid food on the 19th, along with stool softeners. REALLY do NOT want to be constipated. When should I expect a bowel movement?

I was also having problems with constipation, bloating and gas. I took Dulcolax suppositories, and it worked in 15 minutes!!!

To promote regularity, I'm taking ground flaxseed, mixed into yogurt, smoothies, etc. You can pick it up at healthfood stores, and it also has omega-3's.

I've been eating prunes by the handful, and lots fruits and whole grain foods. So far so good.

I was given Colace 2x a day beginning with post surgery day. It took about 3 days for me to "loosen" up. I've found that eating oatmeal with raisins in the a.m. has helped me.

prune juice mixed with orange juice to kill the taste.. guzzle

apple sauce, fruit, fiber pills and Colace pills worked for me
I was told it might be a week to have a bowl movement.
thankfully it didnt take that long.
