Weight gain since surgery

I lost 12 lbs after surgery then gained 7 lbs back within 6 weeks post-op. I think it was from inactivity and having access to food at home all the time. Now that I'm getting back to my usual physical activity, I don't seem to be gaining anymore.

I also gained weight which is my biggest fear because I use to weigh 250lbs and lost it all the way done to 168lbs went for my 2wks check up
and weigh now 174.8 oh my goodness! i felt like a bomb had fell on me
then i though about it I must now put my self back on weight watcher and catch it before it's too late. But it's so hard becasue all I do is sit here and do nonthing I guess I have to pray about this and let it go.

Weight gain since surgery

I had my TVH 3 days ago and the day after surgery I weighed 7 pounds more then the day of surgery. It's impossible to gain 7 pounds in a day so I'm thinking it's just water weight, besides that, my fingers look like little sausages so it must be water weight.

I had lots of gas also and I think my stomach was still a little swollen after surgery. So I do think it's possible to be water weight also.

Weight gain since surgery

Seriously, I have been struggling with this. I NOW work out 4 days a week and have cut my calories down to 1200 a day and I am barely maintaining my pre op weight! I had to do everything to get the weight off I gained after surgery. UGH!!! My doc said it is VERY common for women in menopause. Lovely..

How long did you wait before you started your exercise for example riding a bike or treadmill?

I had a VERY easy recovery and was back to work in less than two weeks. I started walking right around that time. At 3 weeks I started my body sculpting classes but was very careful when it came to my abdominal muscles. I didnt do ANY abdominal stretching until I was about4 weeks and even then, I was VERY VERY careful. I dont bike ride so I cant help you with that part...

Just LISTEN to your body. Start back slowly. Then, make sure you dont hurt. If you dont hurt, then you are good and didnt overdo it.

Calories are so important to watch. You need to make sure you arent consuming more than you are able to burn off. Ugh! It has been SUCH a challenge...
