Lupron/Zoladex side effects

Thanks Ladies for your replies re experiences with Lupron/Zoladex. You are all so reassuring !!I'm still in much pain after having first implant three weeks ago. Anyone had the exerience of pain not going away? Infact it's worse if anything. I've also lost my appetite and am losing weight. Could do with losing a few pounds but have lost about four pounds in a week. Is this normal ? Anything to worry about ?

What is the likelihood of the Lupron/Zoladex not shrinking the fibroids and me having to have abdo hysterectomy ?

Lupron/Zoladex side effects

Hi,

I have no personal experience with Lupron but if you'll do a search, you can find discussions by others ladies here. The button is second from the right at the top of this page ( kind of under the princess crown).

I think that a call to your dr with your questions might be a help to you too. Please mention your loss of appetite and any other side effects that you've noticed.

Best wishes, I'll be praying it all works out well for you.

Lupron/Zoladex side effects

Hi again,

I lost my appetite with Lupron as well although my doc didn't say this was one of the side effects. Normally I have a big appetite but on Lupron I skipped lunch a lot - before I wouldn't dreamed of doing such a thing.

Sorry I have no answers for you on the pain question as I didn't have any pain. As for Lupron shrinking the fibroids it worked both times for me

abdominal hyst

Sue first a big hello to another UK hyster-sister, I had one shot of lupron equivalent before I brought my surgery forward and apart from the odd hot flash seemed to have no side effects. What I would like to say to you is - DONT WORRY- I ended up having an abdominal surgery I have a large incision, and OK it ain't pretty, BUT I have had almost no pain, only paracetamol for two days, my incision is wonderful - healing fast, no problems with it. I was devastated when my gyn told me he would have to do a vertical cut, but after reading all the posts i could lay my hands on I think I have had less problems with this surgery than many have had with the vaginal route, which certainly seems to be more painful afterwards, so dont panic if you have to go this route, its not so bad at all.

And yes what everybody says is true the waiting is definately the worst part - really!!!

Sue,

I had very large fibroids and I did (3) months of lupron to shrink them for surgery.

From the onset, my Dr. said I had a 70% chance my fibroids would shrink enough for a lap surgery.

I might suggest you ask your Dr. what he thinks the % chance is in your case. It is not scientific and it was high enough odds for me to keep going back in for my shots.

I also lost weight on lupron.

Good Luck!!
