SOOO mad at Dr.'s office today

Hi Fellow Princesses in waiting! This is my first post and here's the topic that got me writing after "lurking" for a few days in wait of my hyster.....

Two weeks ago, I had a lap so the Doc could see how my endo had progressed and see if it was possible to do a TVH or TAH. In the middle of the lap, the Doc came out & talked to my husband - told him it was a "bloody mess in there" and told MDH he could go lower and "look around" some more. MDH told him since I was wanting a hyster anyway, why don't we wait for that instead of keeping me overnight then and then again when I have my hyster.

In the meantime, I have not gotten to talk to the Doc AT ALL and was anxiously awaiting my 2-week f/u appt. which was this morning. I go into the Doc's office & hear he is 2 hrs. behind because of emergency surgery. Which is OK - I should have called first before taking off of work, but what REALLY got me angry was that they didn't even have my chart there because they had me scheduled for a f/u appt. on MARCH 7. 6 weeks instead of 2. Who knows where the communication broke down - whether it was from the doc to the nurse or nurse to nurse, but ultimately it has made me lose a little faith in the nursing staff and doc and now I'M SCARED and sad. :cry:

I had to leave work today because I couldn't stop crying. I also deal w/ depression and anxiety and have controlled this with medication for years. But today with the stress of not knowing exactly WHAT he found in my abdomen, WHEN my hyster will be -- I broke down.

Can I get a lift from my fellow Sisters??

The good thing...they were able to schedule for me to see Doc tomorrow morning - "squeezing me in." Pray that I'll know the right things to ask and that I don't choke anyone! ha ha ha j/k

{{{HUG}}}

I hate that...you hold it together knowing that your appt. is at a certain time,and then something happens and it gets screwed up! Don't blame yourself for getting emotional...it's hard enough to hang on without disappointment and frustration factored in.

Try to sit down tonight and make a list of your questions, and then remember to put the list in your purse ( ) And bring a pad and pen and take notes as you talk to the doctor...that way you won't have to worry about remembering your questions or forgetting the answers!! Take your time, and try to think of it as you buying a product or service...get the information you need. Save the emotional response til later...THEN you can have a good cry if you need one!

I know you'll do great...and you will feel much better after you get to hear the information you've been waiting on, whatever the outcome.

Don't forget to come back here and tell us all about it!!!!

s to you!!!! You can do this!!!

SOOO mad at Dr.'s office today

hi!! i'm probably going to sound like all the other princesses,but it's true-the waiting IS the worst part of having the procedure. my hyst was scheduled for 7/24/01,and my consult was 2 months prior!! in that time,i had to start iron therapy,have blood donated for my procedure,a physical prior to the surgery,and get ALL my time used up before going on disability leave. so,i know what you mean about waiting!! and,i didn't want the surgery done when the ob/gyn said it needed to be done,based on how large my fibroids had grown,from october,2000,til last april. not only that,but due to the two LEEP's she did for my cervical dysplasia. it was just time to be done with that mess!! i hope that you are taking time to pray and meditate,to help you relax and focus on getting well,again!! best of luck.

You guys are great!!

This website is the best. It hadn't even been :15 minutes after I posted this and I got so much support from you ladies.

Here I am...off to work. I had forgot to mention that I'd already bought the Journal and THe Land of Sister book - so I'm armed and ready for the appt. today at 11:30. I'm taking my Journal with the questions and going to mark them off after I ask. But before all that...I'm calling the office to make sure the Doc is there today!!

I'll let you know how today goes. Thanks again for your posts, ladies. They helped BUNCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
