ovary pain- Help!

Hey everyone,

I am having really severe pain in one ovary today. I want to cry. Only 10 days to surgery!.....But I can't take Motrin, or any narcotic pain med- It's just me and my kiddo. Does anyone have any suggestions? I think maybe someone crept up on me and stabbed me....

Besides drugs I don't know what to tell you. We share a castle date though =) I am having some pretty bad pain too but took some Tylox and it is all gone. Is Ultram narcotic? I don't think it is you may want to call your doc about getting some. It's worst side effect on me was it made me want to clean lol...my husband was ready to buy buckets of it.

I can definately feel your pain, I have reaccuring cysts on both ovaries. Ultram is a synthetic drug that acts like a narcotic, but is not a cantroled substance. It is acetominophen (Tylenol) and Tramedol. I have found that a heating pad does help a good bit for that pain. I wish you the best, and hope that you get relief soon! Good luck, as well, with your upcoming journey.

Hope

You might want to call your doctor and ask about Tylenol. My doc allowed it all the way to the night before my sugery - I guess it doesn't cause the blood thinning that other drugs do. But please ask your doctor before taking!!!

Hi---

I know its too late for today but if you are still in pain tomorrow , call the doctor and ask for a prescription. You can take Tylenol with codeine and a few other prescription pain meds. Definitely make sure the doctor knows how much pain you are in so he can help you out. For now the heating pad suggestion is a good one or a hot bath. Take care

Hi All,

Thanks for responding. Last night was not good at all. I did call my doct. She spent about 40 mins on the phone with me and finally convinced me that I should take some pain med. She called in an rx but it was too late for me to get it. My kiddo was already in bed. I spent the night with a heating pad and took some super duper motrin (which I was not supposed to do, but I HAD to do something.) It was a humid hot night in good old CT, so I was uncomfortable all around. The heat did give me something else to focus on beside the overwhelming pain. UUUUGGGHH. I will be glad when the pain is gone.
