I'm only 7 days away from surgery and...lost

The day's seem to go by so fast. I now have only 7 days left until surgery. So many questions are going through my head that I even find it hard to sleep. What will it be like after? Will I still feel the same way about myself? Will I ever forgive myself for making this big decision? Or should I live with this pain, which is getting worse and doesn't seem to end? What if the surgery doesn't take away the pain? Will they guarantee me that it will? There are so many unanswered questions now. I know most of them will only be answered with time. I am feeling so sad already. I seem to cry over the littlest things. I am very moody. Is this what it will be like after surgery, too?

My pre-op is only two days away. It almost scares me as much as the operation itself, because I know it means that the day will be here way too soon. In the beginning I wished for it to be done as soon as possible, and now here I am wishing it was farther away. I'm sorry to ramble on, but I just had to write it all down, and I figured this was the best place of all to write it. You have all been wonderful. I appreciate your kind words and your support. Thank you for letting me talk about how I am feeling and what I've been thinking.

Thanks to you all, Tina

I fully understand how you are feeling. I am 4 days from surgery and have been asking myself those same questions and with a lot of family support I know that I will feel better and be better for my family.

Good luck to you.

Chin up babe - I too have the same d-day as you!! also all the same questions - we are either both going nuts or it is quite normal - I personally think that it is all quite normal. (Maybe!!!) I am really scared about what I am doing too but as my DH keeps telling me I have to have a life and if this is the only way to get it - why not give it at least a try. I know there is no going back - it scares me more than anything - but you sound like you are in the same position as me - constant pain and no life - we deserve a life!!! We have to give it a go - I can;'t afford to send flowers so heres the next best thing - I will be thinking of you next Tuesday - try and keep positive - we all have to. I know it will be hard but it is our only choice. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for both of us. and all the other ladies out there doing the same thing!! (Mind you it is sooooo tiring trying to remain positive Good Luck next week.

Im about 11 weeks into the recovery Im not going to say I feel wonderful, But I will tell you that I feel exactly the same as i felt before sugery...minus the misery of a period that was neverending!!!! I wasnt planning on havng anymore children, so im ok with removing everyting... I am on an hrt patch ESCLIM, and so far i havent had any problems...so I guess that after all I went threw it was definitly worth it like i said earlier I dont feel wonderful, BUT Im feeling 100 % better than i did before surgery take care Lee

My day is the day before yours and I'm feeling all the same emotions. Off to my pre-op at 8 AM this morning.... List of questions in hand waiting for answers.

My family and friends have been wonderful supporting me so far. A great solution was for me to list all the things I've missed or been unable to do this past year because of being so fatigued due to sever anemia and a zero ferratin level. I know the surgery is the choice for me right now but I'm still apprehensive about it all. I think it's normal to feel this way.

This site has been a great support for me. I will rely on the sisters here for the next week to help me with the waiting and then I look forward to telling my story to all those LIW.

Try to relax this week. Good luck to you.

I'm the opposite of most of you -- I haven't had any pain nor excessive bleeding. I've been a little uncomfortable, but figured it was menopause or bowel. Who knew? I have 6 fibroids, one the size of a grapefruit, and haven't felt a thing! Part of me wonders why I should be having surgery while the other part tells me I should do it before I do start hurting!
