kept ovaries having pms symptoms. Anyone else?

Just wondering if anyone else is having pms symptoms?
I kept my ovaries and I'm finding that I am starting to feel like I'm going too have my period.
I realize that I won't bleed but I'm wondering about the pms part of it. I'm not on hormones as I dont' need them, but I'm am starting too have horrendous breast tenderness and feeling that out of control crankiness.
I wanted too know how other ladies might be handling this.

Hey Julie1,
I too was shocked when my body went through PMS after my hysterectomy. Since you kept your ovaries you will have everything you normally have with PMS except the bleeding. I found that my symptoms were really intense in the beginning and have eased up some since. Some women said that over time (how much depends on each case) their syptoms slowly went away. I'm 7 months out and am finally happy to say I have just started sleeping through the night without any medical help for the last 2 wks. It's a tough thing our bodies go through.
Best of Luck to you on your recovery. Time helps everything.

Yep Julie,

I see we are close with our surgery dates. The PMS is tolerable, but my breasts are more sore than they were pre-op.

I have been on Anti-Ds for years, so that helps with the PMS symptoms kinda sorta LOL!!!! No real cure for PMS. Ugh.

Hugs
Jess

I am finding the same thing. I am a *newbe* here. I am 5wk 2 days PO. The first time I ovulated I thought my right ovary was going to explode! I do hope that the symtoms lesson up as time goes on! I 'feel' your pain!

Yup, I've got major PMS...breast tenderness, backaches, etc. and I know exactly when I'm getting it each month like clockwork. And lucky me, because I'm now off the pill for the first time in 10 years I found out I get cysts on my ovaries so I have the pain like no other!

I could feel it for a while after the surgery but now 16 months later I rarely feel anything. I do think it gets better for most women over time.
