Re: Am I being lazy?
I have had an almost totally trouble free recovery and at 2 weeks, 15 minutes of activity meant 45 minutes of being horizontal with my cold pack and a trip to the grocery store would require 3 hours of sleep before I could put away the non-perishables.
We all heal differently but at two weeks, it's not reasonable or, I think, medically safe to expect much of yourself... your job now is to heal.
That incision, though, should be looked at- hot and swollen could mean it's just a little stressed, and it could be nothing, but it could also mean an infection is taking hold and it's far better to be sure than to wait and see.

Re: Am I being lazy?
I am at 6 weeks today and I took my recovery slow. I did things when I could and listened to my body when it let me know I did too much. I have had a near perfect recovery, very few issues. I took it seriously that I only had 1 chance to heal right the first time. I feel that at this point in my recovery I am doing great. still need a nap here and there, but Im able to go on the treadmill 1/2 hour a day ( I live in an area were we have too much snow and ice, so I couldnt go for walks outside) I have been doing laundry, light cleaning around the house and on monday I vacuumed my bedroom for the 1st time in 5 months ( I wasnt allowed due to previous issues and my husband had been picking up the slack in vacuumming) so all will come back to you in good time and at your own speed. the previous ladies are correct, this is not a race. You actually win when you are fully recovered in your time and at your own pace.. take it easy and know you are on your way!

Re: Am I being lazy?
My doctor said I was to do absolutely NOTHING for anyone other than myself for the first 4 weeks. After that I could consider doing little, easy things for others. You are here to heal. Don't worry about what others are doing just do what works for you. I have full time help for 3 weeks and I plan on taking full advantage of it believe me.

Re: Am I being lazy?
Thanks for this. I was also worried about this very issue. We had meals delivered by family and friends. I am second week and I have wondered what I should be doing. The truth is I don't have the energy. I have been going downstairs for meals with the family for the past two days and that has taken a lot of effort!! We are all doing it right! We are doing what is right for our individual bodies and recoveries! I'm going to stop being so hard on myself.
