6+ weeks post hysterectomy: Hematoma, seroma, fluid sac support

I had a TVH 11/23 kept my ovaries. 8/9 days post op felt wonderful, no pain meds. 10 days post op severe pain. 12 days post op heavy bleeding (through a super maxi pad and my clothes). Called the Dr and made an appointment the next day. 13 days post op ER because pain was so bad and I had a fever (didn't make it to my dr appt). CT scan showed two hematomas. Radiologist advised surgery. GYN elected to hold off on surgery and let the body absorb (because I had complications w surgery), prescribed Tramadol with a refill. I took Tramadol with 600mg Advil for about two weeks for the pain. I have been alternating 800mg Advil with 1000mg Tylenol for about a week. Still have pain and bleeding. I have been bed ridden. On good days I can walk around the block. Last 3 days I can do short trip to grocery store. I'm 4 weeks post op and trying to return to work Jan 3. I'm worried and I just want to be pain free (my whole journey started on 10/18 with severe pain). I'm sad. I have read some old posts that said 6 weeks will be better. Anyone else have hematomas?????

Re: Hematoma, seroma, fluid sac support

Have that hematoma frustration too. Suddenly though it started to feel slightly better. Been 3 weeks since surgery and some days are better than others w/ it. My Dr has been watching it via US on a weekly basis, which the never ending appts are no fun, but it's reassuring and gives me renewed energy when they give me results that it is starting to go down. Knowing it's going away does seem to make it slightly more tolerable at least. Maybe if your dr hasn't done the US's or infrequent, maybe you can request?? May help put mind at ease to see some sort of progress. Good luck, hoping you feel better soon!

Hey there how are you doing? Did it resolve? I ended up in the ER on Jan 1. UTI and infected abscess. I have been on IV antibiotics. The abscess was right in front so they were able to stick a needle in it on Tuesday. Full of puss they also put in a JP drain. Friday the JP drain was removed woohoo. I can finally sit and have very little pain (Toradol). One of my hematomas did absorb, lots of bleeding, took 4 weeks.
