What color discharge is normal?

Since 8/10 I've had various different color discharge (sorry, TMI alert). From bright red (at first) to pink to the reddish brown of old blood, but now it's brown. I mean, BROWN, like BM brown. Is this at all normal? Is it just still old blood or what the heck is going on? Anyone else experiencing this?

What color discharge is normal?

Brown is old blood, really old. The end of my (former) periods used to be like that.

What color discharge is normal?

I have been bleeding (somewhat more than what would be considered spotting) since about 3 or 4 days post op. It started out really light and got heavier...though not heavy enough to be considered like a period. I had my 10 day post op visit this past Monday with my doc...he said this is perfectly normal and could continue for maybe the next week or so. Already I am noticing it's getting lighter. I can't wait for it to stop.

Hi, it sounds like old blood to me, but just for a piece of mind I would check with your Dr. Best of luck to you. Melanie

I've totally had the same experience but now mine is yellowish. How's that for strange? I go to the doctor today though so I'll ask what is up with it!

Let us know what you find out....I'm very interested in what your doc has to say about it.

Do get it checked just in case but my discharge followed just the pattern you describe. It then turned yellow and finally quite watery before it stopped altogether at about 6-7 weeks. The dr said that was within normal.

Exactly the same with me and my doctor said it is old blood. He told me it was normal for some people. My friend who had the TAH 10 years ago never had bleeding or a discharge. Everyone heals differently, I believe.

I don't think I have seen red in mine. It was brown in the beginning and by the end of the first week the brown was gone. After about 2 weeks, I noticed the yellow. I figured that would change so I've waited. So retiredarmywife, I too am curious what your doctor will say. I've almost called a couple of times myself. I've had a bit of irritation and itching but not consistant. A few days I've not felt a thing and put it off.
