Oh my aching....vaginal cuff?

23 days post op and I can only imagine tht this aching feeling I'm having since last night is the vaginal cuff? It's in the same spot where I would normally get my pre-period cramps, right behind the pelvic bone, in the center, if that makes sense?

I've had a couple of sharper twinges, if I turn the wrong way to fast, but this constant ache is kind of annoying. I can't take Motrin any more, it's been killing my stomach, and the Tylenol 3 is too strong now although I did take it last night because the ache was keeping me awake. Any suggestions? Regular Tylenol maybe? Will a heating pad help?

This really is a new adventure everyday!

Liz

Re: Oh my aching....vaginal cuff?

I Was told part of the pain was from reconnected ligaments also but mainly from inflammation. I never attributed pain to the cuff, so I can't say if it was there or not. Have you tried taking food with your meds? I took Aleve, which is only twice daily, but also affects the stomach. Would extra strength Tylenol work? Does your Dr have any ideas on meds? Some ladies say heat helps, for me resting helped. I couldn't pinpoint the pain but assumed it was just a variety of cut and reattached areas. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Oh my aching....vaginal cuff?

I had what seems to be the same thing. I took Aleve and then tylenol. Aleve does not bother my stomach near as much as motrin.

Re: Oh my aching....vaginal cuff?

Taking Omeprazol while on NSAID can help your stomach as well. So if you need the Motrin, try some Omeprazol as well and see if your stomach feels better
