Re: 4 weeks post op tomorrow but still in pain?

I will be 4 weeks post op on Monday. I get unbelievable fatigued so easily. Went out today with family to buy my son a suit and couldnt wait to get home to my couch. I still have many pains although they all come and go - I just never know what will hurt when I move a certain way. I know everything and everyone heals differently but you need to press the issue with your doctor if you really think you are not pregressing. Have you had a post op yet? Mine will be at 6 weeks.

Re: 4 weeks post op tomorrow but still in pain?

I had my post op at 5 weeks and told my doctor that I felt worse the last 2 weeks than I had the first 2. She said, "oh I probably forgot to mention that virtually every woman hits a plateau and that's probably what's happened to you. You should start to feel better in the next couple of days." That was on Tuesday. On Thursday, I really did feel better. Today I went out with a friend for about 3-1/2 hours (including driving time) and was exhausted when I got home. My back and abdomen hurt as well. My gyn told me it will take 5-6 months to get back to "normal." I've read that a lot, but was hoping it wasn't true. However, if you don't feel like you're getting better at all, I agree with the previous post that you should call your doctor and make him/her understand. If it's a woman, sometimes I don't think they listen as well because they are women. (I have heard women say men are so much more understanding and I never really thought so except I have noticed with this surgery and the pre and post op appointments, my urologist is so much more gentle than my gyn. I know it's not true of every doctor/woman, but I think sometimes we have to jump up and down to make ourselves heard.)
