I agree. It will probably make you feel much more relieved after you mention your feelings.

I have a history of sexual abuse and rape as well. My surgeon didn't ask about it, but I brought it up. It's an important part of my medical history. Do bring it up to the OB/GYN - they deal with this stuff on a daily basis. You won't be the first patient they hear this from - and unfortunately, you won't be the last. In my own experience, part of the healing process was giving voice to what I'd been through. (I don't have issues so much with the GYN end of things - but I need Valium to get through a dentist's appointment.)

You aren't being silly - I think that it's really difficult for your husband and other folks who haven't gone through this to understand the wide range of effects sexual abuse can have on a person. Feel free to PM me if you need to chat, OK?
