When will pants be a wardrobe option????
I can't even imagine at 4 weeks post op putting pants on or wearing my jeans that I used to love. Thank goodness it's summertime and sundresses are the wardrobe choice these days. How long before the rest of you felt comfortable wearing pants after TAH surgery??? The fall season will be upon us before we know it and I don't think I want to be wearing sundresses and sandals in the snow!!!!!! lol

When will pants be a wardrobe option????
Looks like dresses are going to be the only option for me - unless I can get over the fact that I look like Steve Irkel
(sp?) if i wear a skirt. I am not a skirt or dress wearer so i am not looking forward to this! Also the last (and first) time I wore a skirt to work a few people made comments. No, I do not work with children. I could look at it as an opportunity to go shopping! (internet of course).
How is Calgary today anyway? I was born and raised in Lethbridge. Oh how I wish I was living and working in Alberta for this operation! Healthcare is so expensive when you have to foot some of the bill! Though I am very grateful that I have an employer that offers good insurance.
Take care!

When will pants be a wardrobe option????
I'm 3 weeks post-op for TAH/BSO with about an 8 inch vertical incision. I was really worried about pants cause of my incision. I went out and bought a couple of inexpensive capri pants with a regular waist band but more of the low rider kind in a size bigger than I normally wear. That way they aren't tight across my tummy. I have been wearing them for about a week now and it hasn't been too bad.
I'm not sure when I'll ever be able to fit into my wonderful normal worn in comfy jeans again! Maybe at that magical 6 month mark!
Happy healing,
Tracie

When will pants be a wardrobe option????
I'm relieved to see I'm not alone. I have just worn yoga pants and work-out pants--you know, stretchies with unstructured waistbands with a lot of give. I have to start teaching college in a couple weeks and I don't what I'm going to do. I'm NOT a PE teacher! Plus I have post-surgical neuropathy in my foot. What to do about shoes? All I can manage are flip flops and slippers. I need to heal up immediately!

You all may be suprised how soon you fit into your pre-op clothes.
I think I was 4-5 weeks post-op when I was able to fit into my regular jeans and shorts. Granted, they may have been a little snug by the end of the day (I always got swelly belly in the evenings.) But hey, at least I was able to wear them during the day. I just had to trade them in for pajama pants when I got home lol.

When will pants be a wardrobe option????
4 weeks after LAVH I tried the biggest jeans I have yesterday, but after a few hours I had to open all the buttons. I fit in only only one pair of trousers and I am washing that quickly all the time, so that I can put it on again. I have borrowed one more from a friend.
Should I buy new trousers? I am still hoping in two weeks time, when I go back to work my old ones will fit. But reading the posts I am not sure if that is realistic.

When will pants be a wardrobe option????
I was wearing denim (non stretch) capris 9 days post op. DH gave me a strange look when I pulled them out of the closet. I just had to try them on and they fit and were comfy. Most of the time I have been in shorts, but it is nice to know I can wear them if I want. I still haven't tried on my favorite jeans, just way to hot for that. Hopefully those still fit.

When will pants be a wardrobe option????
I had a TVH and tried to wear jeans and the crotch cuts so no jeans for me either - and I was 6 weeks yesterday. Hopefully we will all be back in our jeans soon.
