Re: Work and Getting Back to Normal

Yep. I did tell her this is unlike any other surgery I've had (and I've had a several) when it comes to recovery. I want to get back to normal asap, but I got worn out just folding laundry yesterday! I've found just because you feel great one day, doesn't mean you will the next.

My only problem is I have a very physically demanding job...on my feet all day and lots of lifting. My boss gave me some flack while I was at the hospital about how soon I would be able to return to work. I know if I go back next week, I will have to make sure my doctor gives me a list of restrictions (which I'm sure they won't like). Would like some opinions on this. Thanks bunches!

Hey, please, do not rush back to work. You have had MAJOR SURGERY, your employer cannot push you to return before you are healed enough. Returning to work 4 seems post op is just crazy, especially, you job is very physical. Please, stay home and heal properly.

I had just my womb removed and went back to work in 6 weeks and my job is not physical, just busy.

Please, heal well, and a safe and speedy recovery to you (((hugs)))

Sorry, I meant to say '4 weeks'

Re: Work and Getting Back to Normal

I'm 5 weeks post-op now...went back last week. It has been rough...even with sitting down all day. Aside from an episode last Friday, I've had mild bleeding off and on. Today I've had a lot of hip pain...making it a little painful to get around. I've been shuffling around looking silly, but still working. I REALLY wish I could have taken more time off...even if I WAS going crazy just sitting around at home. I'm wondering of my restrictions will be lifted Monday. If I went by how I'm feeling now, I'd say NO.
