Re: Getting very scared

I'm so with you. I've already canceled one surgery out of fear and am having to talk myself into not canceling this one. I'm up at 2:00 am worrying. I hate how scary this can be.

I also have the same cut as you opened 3 times as well and I plan on having davinci robotic surgery to cut away all my adhesions. I hope you have great luck on monday. I am having a sleep study done on monday and hope to get all of that out of the way before my hyst!

Re: Getting very scared

It's going to be a lot better than you envision it's going to be. Really, I promise you. The more you dwell on it the worse it's going to be. On the flip side, the more you prepare your life and house for it beforehand the easier it'll be afterward. My suggestion is to focus your energy on getting everything stocked up/cleaned up/ready to go, and then spend lots of time doing the things you won't be able to do for a while after surgery. Keep busy! The day before my hyst we went to the pool and then ended up having people at our house until 9 pm. I was never so grateful for my friends distracting me to the point that I completely forgot about surgery until bedtime. Lots of hugs go out to you, and if all else fails some deep breaths and visualization helps a lot.

Re: Getting very scared

I still have a wait...my date is Aug. 12. I am having a total hysterectomy for complex hyperplasia atypia. I am sure you have been down every avenue as I have...looking for an alternate route...but there is no way...and today I have been bleeding and in much pain....so it just confirms my decision...all that to say, I understand how you feel and will say a prayer for you...I am sure I will need support the closer to my time..but reading the other posts on this site has given me much comfort...I feel it has been a God send for me. We will be through this before you know it!!! let us know how you are!

Re: Getting very scared

I cant stress enough what evenkeel said. It really is nothing compared to what we imagine. I dont think there is much of anything that I didnt worry about beforehand. I exhausted myself stressing out. I look back now and shake my head at how much energy I wasted consuming myself with every little detail. I wonder how much time I took off of the end of my life worrying that 2 months. LOL

I know we cant take your worry away, but I promise promise promise you....its nothing anywhere near what you fear,
