bowel prep

In the past I have been given go-lightly for my bowel prep. This time I was given Dulcolax. Two pills at 2pm and 4 pills at 6pm. I thought this was strange, but I did not question not drinking the go-lightly! Has anyone done this?

You're right, that sounds way better than go-awfully (which is what it really should be called!)

Your bowel preps sounds better than mine, a fleet enema.

well...

It will do the job and it's a LOT better than drinking that other stuff!

Just stay near a bathroom and drink a lot of water (if that is okay'd by your doctor).

Hugs,

Rita

My doctor had me use Go-Lightly before my lap/d&C last year. I'll never be able to enjoy "Breakfast at Tiffany's" again! Dulcolax sounds like a breeze by comparison. I am taking notes & will definitely ask about it at my pre-op appointment. Thanks for the tip!!!

I've had the colyte for numerous colonoscopies. My fleet enema should be a breeze compared to that. I've never heard of Dulcolax being used before, though. Good Luck!

Ask your doctor about alternatives. I couldn't take golytle because it made me vomit as soon as I started to drink it. Any other time I've been ordered to take it I tell them about that experience and they offer me the Fleet drink, which is about a cup total of liguid...much better than the big gallon size.

Also, be sure to make this as COLD as possible. It goes down easier.
