Questions about hormones, cramping and bleeding

Hi! I am new here. I am so glad I found this website.

I have questions and I cannot seem to find answers to them. I really do believe the best answers come from women who have experienced what I am going through. I do hope I can get help. My first question is about taking hormone pills. Does anyone feel like they have gained weight from taking them? How do you feel you have adapted to finding the right hormone for you? Was it a long road? My next question is sorta personal. I woke up last night with cramping that I really have not felt before and I started bleeding again. I also had a few clots come out. Is this normal in the third week of recovery? I have not bleed like this at all during recovery. I do have a call into the nurse but I have not heard back yet.

I do appreciate any answers I receive and I look forward to getting to know everyone on this website.

Have a great day!!

Re: Questions about hormones, cramping and bleeding

I was put on the hormone pill right after surgery and I switched to the patch because it seemed to give me an even dose of hormones until I changed the patch. I change it 2x a week.
I have been on this for 6 years and really have be lucky with it working for me. I think it causes a little water weight, but I find it worth it not to have the hot flashes and insomnia. I work out and watch what I eat so this keeps my weight stable.

I think it is normal to bleed anywhere up to 6 weeks after surgery. I did bleed, but started heavy and then went lighter to nothing. I would check with doctor to see what he suggests.
