2 embarrassing questions
OK, sorry if I TMI but I need to know if I should contact my doc.
My first question is, did anyone feel like they were in labour? I have the same feeling like when I needed to push, like when I was in labour. I don't know if that is normal or not.
My other question is below my incision, and all around my vagina is numb like its asleep, if clothes or blankets or even a person touches me there it feels like a bigillion needles getting stuck in me.
I hope that someone can help me with these questions as the feeling is driving me
I had an abdominal hyst three weeks ago, in case that helps.

Your first question sounds unusual to me -- maybe someone else will know.
As far as the second question, numbness combined with extreme sensitivity around the incision is very normal, however the location you describe sounds unusual. I have the numbness above the incision, in the lower abdominal area.
I think it is worth a call to the doctor, just to relieve your mind.

Hi Cabo, I havent' had your kind of problems so plz keep that in mind. I'm not so concerned with the pins and needles. That could just be the nerves healing. But I dont' think I like the sound of that "pushing" feeling. I mean the last thing I wanted to do was bear down in that area. That's why I think you should ask your dr for some advice. It could be some kind of swelling trouble and that could also be pushing on something to make you feel numb. Yep, I would call the dr's office and speak to someone, or just go ahead and make an appt.

Thanx for the replies. I wasn't sure if it was just normal healing pangs or not.

I agree with tgio and shera. I think you need to call your doctor about the 'pushing down' feeling. S/he may want to check you to make sure everything is as it should be. Let us know, and I hope you feel better soon.

I agree about checking the pushing pain with your doctor (its not terrible constipation is it because your bowels take ages to settle down) and if your funny sensations around your incisions are painful ask your doctor to treat it as you have the classic symptoms of neuropathic pain which for me was exremely painful. It may clear up quickly but i still have it at 10 weeks post op( I describe it as burning and searing but can certainly relate to your description). Don't be shy to ask anything. you'll be amazed at how many women have had similar concerns or symptoms to you.
god bless
jean
