Concerned - discharged had stopped, now bleeding

Okay, now I am concerned. I had stopped having any discharge and now I am bleeding. Should I be concerned or is this normal? I have not over done it...I have sat and reclined most of the day.

Re: Concerned - discharged had stopped, now bleeding

Hi!

Have you called your doctor about this change in your recovery? It's important that you let your doctor know about the bleeding, especially if it's heavy and/or bright red.

Please let us know when you can what the doctor says, okay?

Re: Concerned - discharged had stopped, now bleeding

April,
No, I have not called yet but will on Monday. It isn't a lot of blood but it is red. I had stopped 7 days after surgery. The only pain I really have is when I have gas. I will keep you informed after I talk with the doctor tomorrow.

I hope you don't wait til tomorrow. If you stopped bleeding, but started again, it can be a big warning.

Take care,

Re: Concerned - discharged had stopped, now bleeding

I hope you have phoned your doctor as I too had a bleed but this was very heavy I was taken back into hospital for 5 days and I have what is called a hematomma from the operation. I am still bleeding a week on and am on antibiotics. Please, please get this checked out if you are still bleeding.

Thinking of you Hugs Jen

You need to have it checked I agree 100% I ended up back in the hospital from an infection and I had no other signs except for bleeding at first! It progressed and I ended up with a fever and vomiting and lots of pain. Just got done with antibiotics from it! Your doctor should have an on call person you can get ahold of.

Re: Concerned - discharged had stopped, now bleeding

I ended up passing two quarter sized clots last night, too. I called the doctor and he said not to worry and that it was normal.

The bleeding has almost stopped and has turned back to a brownish color. I have been very careful to not over do it. I am so tired of sitting still but I don't want to end up getting hurt so i have been good.

Two weeks now since my surgery. One things amazes me...I am not weepy. I thought I would be. I will keep you posted if the bleeding starts again. Thank you for your concern and I am sorry that you had to go back to the hospital dmwaldo & Jen.

Re: Concerned - discharged had stopped, now bleeding

I did some searching on the web and found out that sometimes when a stitch dissolves some clots come out. It's like they are lodged in there with the stitch. Not that I second guess my doctor but I like to find out the reason why things happen.
