Has Anyone Had To Deal With An Infection Incision?

Hi Everyone!
Im just kinda wondering what will happen ahead of time...I had a mole removed down below my abdomen. He did it since he was down that way already..He had to cut so deep, i believe he said that he used it for one of his holes for my hyst?Well, it has been putting off a funky odor..The Dr told me to do peroxide/neosporin.. Well, i pushed on it a little and puss started coming out with a lil bit of blood...
Does anyone have any idea if they prescribe antibiotics for infections like this??I would rather do something about it then have to continue the peroxide/neosporin bcause it doesnt seem to be working.
Thanks for any info!
Amber

Has Anyone Had To Deal With An Infection Incision?

Hi Amber, I got an infection in my incision while I was still in the hospital, my dr drew a line around it so that he could tell when it started to go down. My dr started me on antibiotics right away, by that evening you see that the infection was starting to go away. I stayed on Keflex for 10 days. I haven't had any problems since. I think you need to call your dr and let him know about the pus, it sounds like the infection is on the inside.Let us know what you find out. Hugs, Carol

Has Anyone Had To Deal With An Infection Incision?

Hi AmberBamber!
I had such pain from the incision site on my right side and I was complaining about it even in the hospital and nobody did anything about it, but once I got home and it started oozing, I went to the doctors and they put me on keflex for 10 days. I haven't had a problem since. When I finally noticed oozing, I called the doctor's office and they had me come in to check it out! I could barely walk, the pain was so bad from the incision site! Just call and tell them you want to be seen! I didn't have to request it, but maybe you need to!
