What to wear coming home?

I don't know what kind of pain or discomfort I'll be in, so should I wear sweat pants or something loose or are jeans going to be OK? Is the pain and discomfort and swelling similar to giving birth? Thanks all...

What to wear coming home?

I had a tah/bso with a bikini line incision. I didn't want anything around my tummy at all. I just wore my robe and slippers home. With a tvh, you won't have an incision so sweat pants can probably work. Maybe you should have a couple of options and use the one that feels best at the time

Best wishes.

I wore the same clothes I went there in which was a sweater and some loose fitting pants. I wouldn't try for the jeans though, as your tummy may be a bit bloated from all the gas.

As far as the pain like giving birth; no, I wouldn't say so unless you mean like a cesaerean incision and then, yes, it is similar in the fact that the rules are pretty much the same for aftercare. Difference is that the pain lingers for several more weeks than a typical c-section; at least, I found it to be so.

What to wear coming home?

I wore what I went in with. Which was loose pants (like yoga type pants) and a big shirt. This way nothing was to tight and easy to put on.

What to wear coming home?

I guess sweats or PJ bottoms will be the thing for me. I want to be comfy and since I don't know what to expect, I'll err on the side of caution and go for what I think will feel best. I'm having it done vaginally so I hope it won't be too bad. It's not knowing that scare me. Thanks ladies...

What to wear coming home?

I wore home a pair of flannel pj bottoms, tshirt and sweatshirt along with my slippers. I wasn't out to impress anyone, I just wanted to go home and get on my own couch!

What to wear coming home?

I didn't find this site before my surgery ... ... and so, basically, didn't know anything about anything! I went into hospital in a tight pair of jeans and didn't take anything else with me ... With a SAH and raging swelly belly, I couldn't get them anywhere near me ...

(((jeanus))) ... I'm so glad I'm not the only one who went home in a robe and slippers!

What to wear coming home?

I went home in the same clothes as I wore in. A sweatshirt, and a lose pair of high waisted sweatpants. I picked that tip up from this web site. I also had a pair of my granny underwear on. Don't forget to pack those!

What to wear coming home?

I wore pajamas and a robe going home. Its all about comfort, don't worry about what anyone else thinks is appropriate or inappropriate. I reccamend having a small pillow in the car to protect you from the seatbelt.

What to wear coming home?

I wore what I went in with....which was my favorite pair of lined jogging pants (I'm not a jogger...just use them to work out in at Curves) and one of my favorite t-shirts. Loose is the key for a while. I didn't wear jeans for two weeks...then I made sure they were loose. I had a 6 inch vertical incision with my TAH/BSO....so it was kind of tender in that area for quite some time.
