Re: Anyone have surgery around 11th june?

Hiya - to put your mind at rest, the two ends of my scar healed differently - one was raised, a bit 'lippy' and uncomfortable but it is catching up now! i have been putting bio-oil on my scar and this has improved it a lot and i am now feeling much better than last week! Good luck with your recovery.

Re: Anyone have surgery around 11th june?

I had a Da Vinci hysterectomy on June 16th. I kept my cervix and one ovary (one had fused to the fibroid). I had my 4 week check on July 13 and was released from any restrictions, including sex! I've been back at work full-time the last 2 weeks, but have really felt like my old self this past week.

I think it does take a minimum of 3 weeks to really get back on your feet. I remember going back into the office for half-days the week following the surgery and just feeling absolutely exhausted. If I could have, I would taken a minimum of 2 full weeks off. But here I am at 4 weeks post op, feeling totally back to myself. I am pretty surprised by that!

Anyone had bleeding or discharge in week 5-6 post-op?

When I went for my 4 week post-op, my doc said that in these next 2 weeks I should see some bleeding or discharge due to my internal stitches disolving.
I have seen nothing yet. Is this normal? What if I dont see anything like that should I call him?

I had a TLH and have 4 stomach insisions that have healed well.
Have any of my sisters experienced bleeding or discharge between 5-6 weeks post-op?

Morticia, I have had no bleeding or discharge at all. Keep waiting to see stiches, but nothing. Maybe I should go out and buy those pretty panties now!

Re: Anyone have surgery around 11th june?

I am happy to report that I can defecate and flatulate normally for the past week and am fairly pain-free (other than regular IBS flares). Of course this happened the very day I had my checkup and told the doctor about my pain. She prescribed Miralax but I did not go and get it.

The funny thing is last checkup, she said you might have discharge. I had been totally free of any discharge but right after she said it, there it was LOL.

Next time I see her I will be like "shhh, don't say nothing unless it has healing involved".

I am so, so glad to be healed and pain-free. Now I just have to get my sleep schedule back on track and get myself psyched up for going back to work.

AND!!!...I did go and buy some pretty panties (some of them are white!!) but I must admit I will always be a panty liner girl LOL.

Re: Anyone have surgery around 11th june?

Hi again!
I am going back to dr. for my 6-week checkup Monday. Finally after 5 weeks I am actually feeling like my old self again. I am not completely exhausted by the end of the day and trying to get back into my exercise routine. Still frustrated over my swelly belly. I hope it goes away..... I am so glad this sight exists and to know that there are "sisters" out there that are having the same experiences with their surgeries.
