Re: Is this part of recovery or something else?
I'm at 4 1/2 weeks post-op, and I think what you are experiencing is pretty typical. There are times when I feel a lot of energy, and think I've turned the corner. Then the next day I'm totally wiped out. At 2 weeks post-op I felt pretty good and energetic. I had to travel out of town for a 2-week post-op checkup, which meant getting up early, catching a flight from my relatively small local airport, flying 350 miles, catching a taxi to the doctor, then reversing the process to get home. I used wheelchair assistance for the larger airport. In the morning I felt really good, and was full of energy when I saw the doctor. I got back to the airport a little before 1 PM, and about the time I got there all my energy drained out. That was on a Friday. I dragged myself out of bed a couple of times on Saturday, but slept most of the day. I also slept a good portion of Sunday.
Since then, I have some days when I feel great and I get all optimistic that my energy is coming back. I will usually do something extra on those days - a little more walking or a trip to the store for a few personal items. Not big stuff like spring cleaning. Then the next day, I can hardly drag myself out of bed it seems.

Re: Is this part of recovery or something else?
I'm 4 1/2 weeks post op and week 3 was definetly the worst for me, as far as tiredness goes. I was surprised at how tired I was, during that week, compared to the first 2 weeks. It's better now.
