4 days post hysterectomy/BSO: Emotional in my head?

Hello,
Four days post op (ovaries gone too) and sooooo emotional today. Seems like the tears have been coming all day - baseball home opener, dog stories on FB. Is it all in my head or have you encountered the weepies?

Re: Emotional in my head?

Very normal, especially since your in surgical menopause.
I was very weepy for 6 weeks after and they put me on estrogen in the hospital.
Even if you went through menopause before, since getting your ovaries out cuts out all hormones (since even in natural menopause, your ovaries put out wee bits of hormones)
So its very normal.
Talk to your doctor about hormones if you haven't yet.
Your brain is on overdrive right now with the lack of hormones and dealing with the surgery.
It will take some time to normalize but it will happen.
Hope this helps
Take great care
