newbie greetings ......and a question?

I have a mild stress bladder problem and I'm waiting for a surgery date for a TAH/BSO (?) due to large fibroid(s)and I am wondering if the leaks will go away once the fibroid is out (they ARE taking it/them out aren't they?) OR...do I need to consult a uroligist to be there alongside the gynie to do another procedure during the operation?

At 52 I keep thinking I can put this off and menopause is right around the corner. NOT! This last period was a doozy and now I'm anemic again.

Thanks to this website I was better informed when I saw the DR., but now there's so many more questions I forgot to ask her.

Thanks ladies for the ongoing feeling of sisterhood.

newbie greetings ......and a question?

(((((Ladybug)))))))))),

Welcome to hystersisters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to get in touch with your Dr. and tell him about your bladder,so that if you need bladder work it can hopefully be done at the same time as your hyst. May as well do it all at once, so just one recovery.

And yes they remove fibroids during a hyst.

Best wishes,

Pamcat

HELLO

i too am dealing with bladder issues--bladder symptoms are the major symptoms i'm dealing with...my GYN is doing the bladder suspension when he does my hysterectomy (tvh/a&p repair/bladder suspension)..i'm not sure if all GYN's are able to do bladder repairs so you might want to consult with your GYN about what all he/she is capable of doing...if he/she cant or wlll not do your bladder repair, i'm sure he/she has a urologist that he/she consults with.........stay well..*diana*
